Reader Book Reviews, "The Nation We Live In."

" Hi George, I have really been enjoying reading my way through  The Nation We Live In.  It's engaging, wide-ranging, full of surprises (some of which made me laugh out loud) -- and a bit addictive. The book design is also outstanding, so it's good to find that the content lives up to the cover!" M. Roberts. " Vanna Karenina 5.0 out of 5 stars   Fun, engaging and a bit addictive Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2020 The next best thing to sharing a couple of beers and conversation with a new friend, George Vance McGee's The Nation We Live In is a collection of essays and tales set mostly in Austin, Texas but ranging all over the map in subject matter. Whether you agree or disagree with the amiably opinionated author, you'll find yourself engaged, sometimes surprised, and always ready to keep reading. Highly recommended. The Texas Book Festival considering "The Nation We Live In." for participation!

Hi George Vance, Thank you for writing and checking in, and for submitting your book to us this year. With 2020 leaving us with such a smaller lineup and session capacity (less than half the size of a typical year), we've found ourselves in a smaller box than usual, especially as we still try to cover the same amount of ground program-wise (adult and children's and young adult, fiction and nonfiction, sub-genres of all kinds, and so on). But the bulk of our committees' curation deliberations indeed last throughout the summer, and few decisions are final until early September. And THE NATION WE LIVE IN remains among our list of books under consideration. That being said, we will notify you as soon as our review process is complete, and we have made our final decisions. Thank you again, sincerely, Texas Book Festival
