There's a Salesperson in all of us.

Everyone in America is a salesperson. In some form or another, each individual American citizen is constantly selling something.

For example, the typical American 9-5 commuting worker needs to impress their employer with their sales goals, content creation, accounting acumen or marketing wizardry. As the world turns and changes with each new day, the worker-bee must continue to sell their abilities and skills to both their customers and bosses alike. The employee is perpetually scrutinized, with the question, "Why is my work important, needed, and relevant?"

Even your close non-business and fun-time friends are salespeople. Why? How? Well, your friends are constantly trying to enrich your friendship through excellent jokes, insightful wisdom, or enticing invites to parties and social events. All friends hope mutual fun times will translate into wild, laughable and riveting stories, upon a later date. A rhetorical question for friendom is, "Why would another person care to hang out with me? Another is, "What qualities as a friend, do I bring to the table." The remarkable friend is one who can continue to sell their worthwhile advice and mutual time spending as beneficial. There is plenty of room in life for friends that are inspirational and improve your own life, while there is also still room for debaucherous, and wild friends who posses the ability to bring out your own wild side, safely. A friend who can happily get you to leave your comfort zone is keepable.

Even Doctors, dentists, and Ph.D. level brainiacs are salespeople. After 10-12 years in university medical education and residencies, Doctors must then commence selling their newly created medical practice. They can't poach all of their patients. For example, if a doctor is a pediatrician, this person must sell their medical expertise to new customers. Next, they must build a caring staff and develop a loyal clientele of appreciating parents and kid patients.  I'm sure this world has previously witnessed overly intelligent doctors, that simply lacked the extroverted sales skills to collect enough clients to sustain a practice. On a side note of advocacy, I personally vote for the perpetual vaccinations of babies, kids, and youths! Vaccinations were created for the betterment of human life.  The same example also works for dentists. The P.H.D  master graduate-level intelligenistas, sell their discovery expertise to money rich sources and universities, in the hopes of being granted a grant. A Ph.D. student's grant can cover the costs of their conferences, research, field trips and more. You see, even the smartest people in the world are salespeople.

The aforementioned examples help to highlight the important life skill that is the ability to sell. Remember, there's a salesperson in all of us.

Even kids are always attempting their sale skills. Kids pitch their parents daily and constantly, with desires to stay up later, eat sugary foods, spend the night out at friends houses, be granted longer curfews, be gifted new toys, etc. The constant kid sales pitch list could go on for eternity. Dear parents, am I right? This reminds me, I'm still glad that as of the time of this writing I am not burdened with parenthood. Don't get jealous folks, but I sleep pretty quietly and well.

Your favorite actors, entertainers, sports stars and tv personalities are gifted salespeople too! #1 They must be excellent at their chosen craft. #2 They must be talented salespeople themselves or have diligent, working sales teams surrounding them. Entertainers need to grab your attention.  Nowadays with NetFlix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Direct TV, HBO, Cable TV, and the Regular Main Networks, there are more viewing options for your eyeballs than ever! There is an entertainment competition bursting about. Have you ever noticed there are 4-6 or more late night TV talk shows, with celebrity guests hawking their movies, shows, and books every night? It was just a few decades ago, the stoic lone ranger Johnny Carson ran the Late-Night TV show business. Today's current era of Late Night TV Talk Show Hosts include Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and the current Ratings and politically humorous and infuriated leader, Stephen Colbert.  Even professional athletes want you to watch and pay to attend their live sporting events. Sports shows, broadcasters, and interviewers make powerful attempts to create drama and heighten controversy to enhance their sport's ongoing soap opera. It's all an effort to suck you in. My watchable favorite Sports Commentary personalities are Stephen A. Smith of ESPN's First Take Show, Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe on Fox's Undisputed, and lastly, L.A. based Colin Cowherd of Fox's The Herd.

In essence, so much of life can be circled back to sales.

In dating, one human must convince the opposite partner to go on a date with them. On a side note, in my opinion, group hangout dates are lame. A true authentic one-on-one date is the only way to find out if you've found a new romantic mate and long-time dating partner. Dating is a  total sales  job, and unless you are "set up" by one of the friends, a very real "cold call." Don't forget to follow-up. Real World dating and its similarities to the business sales cycle is almost eerie. Haven't you noticed that already?

In a political example, the 2019 calendar year just started and the United States of America's current President Donald J. Trump has shut down the federal government for almost 1 month. It has forced federally employed workers to work without pay. There are starting to be major TSA slow-downs in security at the airports. I've read reports of troubles at the National Parks. Is it gonna take a major catastrophe for our political leaders to get their shit together? The Democratic House Leader, Nancy Pelosi has thus far been a strong-willed and honorable spokeswoman. She has shown an excellent ability to snark back at the President. Nancy has the experience and presence to sit Trump back down in his childish playpen. Thus far, she is the only politician who has shown an immunity-like power, when attacked by Trump's twitter rants and verbal diatribes of meanness. Nancy Pelosi rightfully canceled Trump's state of the Union House speech, per the shutdown situation. This unnecessary shutdown, courtesy of Mr. Trump is so he can continue selling his proposed border wall and eminent domain inducing construction project on the Mexican-American southern demarcation line. Why didn't he sell and initiate this wall project when the Republicans held power in Congress for the previous 2 years of his regime? America is the land of opportunity and he missed his lengthy window.  Some windows are wide. Some windows are narrow. Some Windows are software programs,  in which Microsoft's Bill Gates became a billionaire off of. In Modern Times, Bill Gates is still very much alive, and maybe the most profound, caring and giving philanthropist in the world! Back on the government shutdown topic, the Democrats are understandably selling their rebuttal and refusal of the wall project both to the President and to us, the American Public. It appears to me, the House Majority Democrats have the leverage and winning side. I could be wrong. In my humble opinion, as a voting American, I believe the US government should return back to functional working normalcy. Then Democrats and Republicans can continue their squabbling on immigration reform, while the government is running. It has become obvious our  U.S.A government's immigration policies as a whole, need tons of official re-working. Our nation's immigration policies are as confusing as a wishy-washy nightclub bouncer on drugs.

There's a salesperson in all of us. As a blogger, writer and book author, I've got to create enticing enough words to keep you, our wonderful reader enthralled. How am I doing so far? I appreciate you!

It was a Success! The Lone Star Book Festival 5.29.2021 was fantastic!

The Lone Star Book Festival in the Downtown Square of Seguin, Texas today was a SUCCESS! The Indie Authors and I had a friendly, cool wholesome meal @the Power Plant Restaurant and Venue Friday night. Good times all around. The Book Festival Today had roughly 50 or so individual author, music, and art tents. All were surrounding a well manicured Seguin downtown square park with a beautiful fountain. The  streets were  blocked off, and the visiting patrons and book inquisitor guests were gracious and welcoming. The guests even bought books too. Multiple fellow authors told me they sold 15 books or more. The day started off cool, overcast and drizzly, but by 11 am or 12 noon there were blue skies and sunshine. Thanks to BookPeople for the bookmarks, and BookPeople Bumper stickers. There were so many visitors, they all got taken. ---gvm
