The Resistance

What is the "Resistance"? It is a mindset of avid voting conscious American citizens who are against the morality, economic trade tariffs, principals and human right's evilness of President Donald J. Trump. Also known as Never Trumpers.

Despite our country's continuous upswing in economic prosperity from the depths of the 2008 depression, almost everything else, in my opinion, President Trump has stumped for and tweeted about has been negative, and often quite evil. I'd say Mr. Trump represents the DARK side, but that would be too harsh and unbecoming of the Dark Side (Star Wars reference). The Dark Side of the force in the famous blockbuster movie franchise showed more glimpses of hope, promise, redemption, and kind humanity than our current egomaniacal, cruel and self-absorbing septuagenarian in chief. At least Darth Vader saved his son, Luke Skywalker from the Emperor, right?

Here's another real challenge, to blame for how our current President's harmful rhetoric and themes ooze downstream amongst our Nation's fine states. His love for white nationalism is an ongoing sore. The M.A.G.A. (Make American Great Again) Hats, might as well change their acronym to M.A.W.A. It seems his policies and slogans are trying to Make America White Again. In lieu of embracing the USA's evolving demographics, he is afraid of societal changes. I think Trump wishes he could harken America back in time not only to 1956 but more like 1776. Gosh, it is so painful and backward thinking.

For example on my most recent beach vacation, while peacefully walking the sands, a fellow youthful Anglo American barked out to me that, "You look like a true American." I  humbly responded back, "Hey, I'm just a plain white guy." This younger college-age man then boldly proclaimed, "Exactly." This quick oceanside conversation sent a shiver down my spine and core! Why? Being an American has zero to do with your ethnic background. White Privilege should NOT be listed on one's resume. America and the Statue of Liberty, in my opinion, stands for economic opportunity, freedom, and the welcoming of legal immigration into our country. Hearing this young fellow confess his admiration for white America was disturbing. So, there my friends is a real-life example of how our President's acceptance of the Charlottesville Virginia protest debacle, his Muslim travel ban, his Transgender military ban, and cage border policies are genuinely corrupting our nation's minds for evil.

Previous presidents such as President Obama advocated for Hope and Change. George W. Bush II campaigned nationwide with the message of Compassionate Conservatism. These 2 previous presidents each made political messaging efforts to unify the entire country. When Obama and  Bush were given the microphone, stage and television time, they projected a voice that was yearning to land and be heard by all Americans. Those were the greater times, in regards to American civility my friends!  On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, when President Trump talks I feel as if he is only speaking directly to his minority base of rural uneducated voters and Fox television watchers. I'd personally guess 70 percent of Americans feel disenfranchised and forgotten by his regime. I often do. It continually saddens me. I feel as though Trump has zero intention of ever being a President "of the people." If  given the opportunity or invitation to visit with Trump and go to the White House again (I've been once before) I'd respond as the entire 3-time NBA Champion Golden State Warriors players and  coaching staff do, and harp back, "Hell no." Whoever encourages and pours gasoline and fuel to Trump's evil tones, is also a guilty enabler. Never be a corrupt and weak enabler. Don't turn a blind eye to injustice. Sometimes you have to actually care about life and others.  Click here for a chart showing how Trump's Presidental Cabinet compares to the citizen demographics of the United States.

In general, Trump's overall tones and infamous Twitter rants are degrading, mean and cruel. Trum continues publicly ridiculing an American hero and deceased Senator John McCain. Yes, folks, our nation's elected president is shouting put downs upon a dead person. It's just sad. I think America was duped into believing that Trump's degrading behavior might cease upon inauguration. Voters were conned into the false premise that he could ever act or exude Presidential honor. Nope! Like a druggie who purposely avoids rehab, his public persona and vile contempt of others has just gotten worse.

Other countries wish to remain loyal allies and friends with the USA, but most other countries loathe and can't stand Trump either. No foreign countries actually want him to physically visit and fly over via Air Force One. If he does, they make fun of him for his harshness, incivility, and policies. Germany's Chancellor Merkel strongly disapproves of him. You know it's bad when a country with the World War II history of Germany still thinks your President is distasteful and unwanted. Recently the Mayor of London England, Mayor Sadiq Khan  is quoted as stating President Trump, "is a Global Threat." Click here to read.

In regards to energy, Trump vows his love for Coal Country. Folks, let's allow coal to runs its natural course. I've read a few articles recently describing the unhealthy and disease-inducing working conditions for coal miners. Just like cigarette smoking, and vaping, coal minors shouldn't consume harmful elements into their necessary lungs. Moving forward, my last 2 or 3 rideshare vehicles have been Hybrid or Electric Vehicles. The Toyota 2019 Camry was a hybrid gas-electric and so was the Prius. These finely tuned electric vehicles felt smooth and normal to me as a passenger. I'm personally NOT all in on the  Democrats green new deal, but as the private capitalism based marketplace is proving, there is a growing monetary share and room for renewable energy!

The Resistance and Never Trump movement are not all just Democrats. I'd be there are plenty of Republicans who disapprove of the manner in which this Reality "Star" has hijacked their G.O.P Elephant Mascot party. Yikes, history will not be on their redish side.

Trump still proudly speaks at the NRA. (National Rifle Association) Why? Because his supporters love their guns. Hey, I like guns and rights too. Hunting is a valid sport. But our country is gravely saddened, concerned and reminded way too often by the death, and bloodshot which guns in general create. Mass Shootings show no boundaries. Chicago, Illinois is running out of body bags and death tags. Americans should be required to earn, take a test and carry a valid state endorsed Gun License. Gun License carriers should be required to take continuing education and safety courses, or they'll expire. Thus, if you are caught carrying a gun out in public, without a valid gun specific license, you should be fined, ticketed and perhaps thrown in jail. That might clean up the streets. Your thoughts?

I can't think of 1 good idea or policy Trump has introduced. He's given federal Tax breaks to the wealthy. He burns our Taxpayer money on his Trips to Mar-a-Lago in Florida. He lies about paying off Porn-Stars for sex. He fake tans his skin. (most likely) Washington D.C. aint on the beach, captain Orange. I've heard artificial tanning via tanning beds is worse for your health than cigarette smoking. Gosh, why can't Ohio's John Kasich have won? I could have lived a happier American life if Kasich's moderate, normal Republican running self had won. Now he's just a CNN TV pundit. While I'm ranting, Ted Cruz the Texas Senator is pretty awful too.

It was a Success! The Lone Star Book Festival 5.29.2021 was fantastic!

The Lone Star Book Festival in the Downtown Square of Seguin, Texas today was a SUCCESS! The Indie Authors and I had a friendly, cool wholesome meal @the Power Plant Restaurant and Venue Friday night. Good times all around. The Book Festival Today had roughly 50 or so individual author, music, and art tents. All were surrounding a well manicured Seguin downtown square park with a beautiful fountain. The  streets were  blocked off, and the visiting patrons and book inquisitor guests were gracious and welcoming. The guests even bought books too. Multiple fellow authors told me they sold 15 books or more. The day started off cool, overcast and drizzly, but by 11 am or 12 noon there were blue skies and sunshine. Thanks to BookPeople for the bookmarks, and BookPeople Bumper stickers. There were so many visitors, they all got taken. ---gvm
