I’ve been editing authors for more than three decades: books, stories, and articles, in fiction, memoir, and nonfiction. I’ve published a novel, Viral Times. My books — the forthcoming memoir Stealing Home, plus a historical novel in progress — have earned their way to Finalist shortlists in the Writer’s League of Texas.
Four novelists have been traditionally published after working in my manuscript groups; one earned her way to the New York Times Bestseller List. Several of the Workshop’s writers have won or been named Finalists in the Writer’s League of Texas Manuscript Contest.
I’m the only editor and creative coach in Greater Austin who uses the methods of the Amherst Writers & Artists to nurture and coach authors and polish their writing. Personal editing with professional results guides my work practices. I’ve been a panelist at the Writer’s League of Texas Third Thursday program, speaking on workshopping fundamentals. I’ve been a League member for more than 25 years as a volunteer, as conference faculty, as an editing resource, and as an author.
I volunteer at the Austin Bat Cave literacy program, tutoring in public schools. I served a three-year tour of duty in the US Army to pay for my college degree through the GI Bill. I’ve also cycled 30,000 miles over the last 15 years, starting with fundraising rides for the Hill Country Ride for AIDS. Dozens of miles a week on a bike are good practice for finishing lengthy projects like books.

Clothing Optional Inc.

Have you ever wanted to swim and just simply be naked? Well, I've recently rekindled this idea of mine. Let's flesh it out. Get it, flesh it out. Ok... The idea and concept for CLOTHING OPTIONAL is for a commercial business . The hope is once the flagship pool is up and running, the business concept could be expanded to different Clothing Optional  markets, concepts, areas, and cities. The primary idea and flagship concept for this business is to find some open zoning land acreage within a large metropolitan city or very close by. Once the land is purchased, the commercial development of the Theme Park can commence. The primary attraction will be a very large, entertaining, amusement, and athletic-style Olympic Pool. There will always be at least 3-5 lanes reserved for athletic or leisure LAP swimming. In order to gain the $7 dollar per day entry fee, applicants must  be over the age of 18, and must also sign a release form promising to NOT publish any photos...

The Electric Urban Scooter Surplus.

Preconceptions.... These new mobile phone application ordered electric scooters whizzing around my downtown and adjacent neighborhoods have distinctly changed Austin Texas's scenery! The terrain has visually been altered. These electronic "pay 16 cents by the minute," scooters have given this new century, a starkly different transportation look. Has your city been bombarded yet? Warning, they are coming. It's inevitable. Visualize with me, the streets and sidewalk you used to actually walk or peddle bike upon, now outwardly sporting these various and competing brand's scooters. How does it work? Well, I imagine, the usage methods are similar to the Uber, and Lyft ride-share models. First, download the scooter brand mobile phone application, next input a credit card for automatic payment, then locate a scooter to use, and finally scan, start, and go. I'd bet it is a pretty simple process. Isn't simplicity always the #1 goal of consumer te...
